So there's this place called Albion Basin up Little Cottonwood Canyon and I kept hearing from everyone how beautiful it was up there! I booked an engagement shoot for this upcoming week at that location so Tyler and I went to go check it out and take some cute pics. Let me tell you, the self timer is only 10 seconds long so I'm sure it was the funniest sight in the world to watch Tyler and I taking turns sprinting back to the position trying not to kill ourselves by tripping over anything. We laughed so much and had a blast! Tyler is really creative and he kept thinking of fun new things to do in the photos. I love sharing my passion for photography with him and I love when we do photography related things together! So grateful for this sweet boy of mine.

We're ENGAGED!!
On Saturday July 26, 2014 I finally got engaged to my best friend in the whole world and love of my life!! Happiest moment is an understatement for when he proposed and the whole rest of the day after! To be honest, Tyler had been teasing me ever since we went ring shopping that he was going to propose way soon! So I was expecting it to happen at some point! I don't get surprised very easily because I like to figure things out and I'm pretty good at it too! But the actual moment Tyler proposed completely caught me off guard in the best way possible!
Tyler and I had a fun date planned for the day and he picked me up to go to dinner at the restaurant where we had our first date, Fratelli's. P.S. if you've never been there you HAVE to go! We love that place! Anyways, we started driving there and he took some weird, long way which I thought was strange. The whole time he's talking to me about when we first met and reminiscing about our relationship. He even drove past Alta just to point out that that's where we met which made me laugh pretty hard. So we get to the restaurant and we sit right next to each other instead of across from one another (T&E tradition, not sure when that started). Anyways, he started talking to me and then all of a sudden he asked if it would matter if my family were there or not to see us get engaged. I said it wouldn't matter and it would be kind of sweet and intimate if it were just the two of us. And then I really don't remember what he said next but it was along the lines of "so if I proposed to you right now, you'd be happy" and he whipped out that perfect box with the perfect ring and proposed to me right then and there! It totally took me by surprise and it was the sweetest thing! I loved getting engaged in a place that was so special to us and where our relationship began almost 4 years ago.
We were SO ecstatic! Then the restaurant gave us the best free gelato with hearts all over it, which was really nice! Then we went back to show both our families before heading to the TRAIN concert downtown, which was seriously SUCH a blast! Ty and I danced and sang and partied all night long calling each other "fiancé" every 5 seconds! It was such an incredible day and I love that boy with all of my heart! It couldn't have been any more perfect!
I can't stop staring at this little beaut on my finger!! It's so amazing!!

Let's Go Down to the Rope Swings
Both summers that we were dating before Ty's mission we would always take a little trip down to the Mona rope swings. It became a really fun tradition and it's always a blast going down there, swimming in the ponds and of course swinging from ropes hanging from trees. It felt so good to be back there with my sweetheart again! This time was seriously so much more fun than all the other times combined! We laughed and swam and the water was seriously so warm! (which is good because I have a thing against cold water)
And to top it all off I found out that my boyfriend is actually spiderman! There is a tall platform at the top of the tree and Tyler just climbs on up there, swings from way high up and does a freaking backflip off the swing!! Who is this kid?! It was pretty amazing! And seriously such a fun day!

He's Home!!
July 9th was the most amazing day in the world because that was the day my sweetheart finally returned home from his two year mission! The whole day was like a dream! I'm pretty sure I was in denial the whole day that he was actually coming home and that I would be able to hug him and be with him again! When we all saw him come down that escalator it was seriously so exciting, we were all freaking out and he was just so happy and looked amazing! I watched him hug his family members in disbelief that he was home and when it was my turn, well, words really can't explain the feeling of that moment. I could breathe again having him in my arms and it was honestly the greatest moment of my life so far. The whole rest of the day I kept saying "This isn't real." Because I had dreamed of this moment for so long but now it was actually happening! He was HOME!! :) We spent the rest of the day together with his family and then the two of us went over to see my family as well! Then we drove around talking, holding hands, and kissing each other's faces ;) ha ha ha!! Best. Day. Ever.
He's been home a little over a week now and we've been pretty inseparable. It's been the happiest week and it just keeps getting better and better. So happy to have my best friend and other half home.

Snaps of June
June went by extremely fast! I honestly cannot believe it's actually July! This month felt like summer truly begun with everything from hanging out by the pool, to rising temperatures, hikes, and just playing outside with the fam! I'm extremely excited for July to finally be here! I love July! And most importantly… Tyler comes home to me next month! YES! :)
