A Disneyland Halloween

For as long as I can remember going to Disneyland on Halloween has always been on my bucket list. I just figured that taking my favorite holiday and one of my favorite places and smashing them together would be AMAZING and I was totally right!! This trip was an absolute dream come true!

Tyler and I kinda screwed up and went to disneyland at the beginning of the year and didn't check the website for which rides would be closed. It ended up almost EVERYTHING we truly wanted to ride and do was closed the first time we went. Splash Mountain, World of Color, The Matterhorn, Peter Pan, and the actual castle had a tarp over it! It was kind of a bummer. So we decided to take a second chance and it was a MILLION Times better. Everything was open and decorated perfectly for Halloween. The people at disney blow my mind with how intensely and beautifully they decorated for Halloween. It was so fun!! I loved just walking around and seeing all of the cool Halloween decorations!

We got to ride all the rides we wanted multiple times, saw the parades, firework show and world of color, googled "top ten treats to get at disneyland" and made it our mission to try as many as we could(favorites include: Matterhorn Macaroon, Mint Julep and Mickey Beignets, dalmatian mint ice-cream sundae, and red apple freeze drink), we magically got lucky with a guy handing us his fast passes for a ride he wasn't using, and then another guy we met in line invited us to come with him on tower of terror using his stroller swap (which is totally cool by the way), and much more!! This trip is one I will always remember. Tyler and I literally could not stop smiling and we had a total blast!!

(Posing with the strangers behind us ha ha)

This my friends is a Matterhorn Macaroon the you get at the "Jolly Holliday" on Mainstreet USA. And let me tell you... the rumors are true. This little piece of heaven is DIVINE! If you love thick, gooey, coconuty goodness... then this is the treat for you. And guess what. It's HUGE and it was $1.99 uh #winning.

Dalmatian mint chocochip sundae from the ice-cream parlor on mainstreet. Tyler and I shared this and it was amazing!

The castle was completely decked out in Diamonds for the 60th diamond anniversary celebration and it was BEAUTIFUL!! I kinda hope they keep the diamonds on from now on even once the year is over.

This is a red apple freeze drink from Cars Land. People kept recommending this one to us and yet it was the treat I was the least enthusiastic with. At first it just tastes like regular apple juice and then once you hit certain spots in the drink, Ty and I decided it kinda tasted like a weird apple pie. But hey!! To each their own! On the other hand... I forgot to take a picture of the Mint Julep drink at the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square and THAT was SOOOO good. You would have to like mint though! I would totally recommend that one instead of this one!

Headlee Halloween Spooktacular Party

It has always been one of my dreams to throw a Halloween party! This year I decided to make that happen! It turned out to be a lot more stressful planning a party than I thought it was going to be, but in the end it turned out great! And let me tell you… me and pinterest were best pals during this planning process. Tyler and I had a lot of fun putting together decorations and creating little treats! It was so fun to get together with friends all decked out in Halloween costumes and play games and just catch up!! Halloween is the freaking best. I miss it already!!

 (Hotdog mummies)

 (mini pumpkins)

(Pumpkin throwing up guac.. kinda gross.. but cool ha ha)

 (Chocolate strawberry ghosts!)

(Candy corn drink using orange soda, vanilla ice-cream, and whipped cream. I made this one up and it was good at first but the carbonation goes away super fast so make sure they aren't sitting for a while before guests arrive! Whoops!)

I Wish the Year Was Full of Octobers

Wow!!! I feel like it has been SO LONG since I have posted on this blog! Sorry for being MIA during this crazy time! So much has happened in the past few weeks! First of all! It's OCTOBER! My favorite month of the whole entire year. Why you ask? Let me tell you. Fall leaves, sweaters, boots, beanies, hot chocolate, pumpkin EVERYTHING (no joke my apartment smells like so much pumpkin spice and vanilla right now) Halloween AKA the best holiday (sorry Christmas, you're not as cool as Halloween), my birthday, chilly air, cuddling up, berry colors and lipstick, and SO MUCH MORE.

So here are some things that have happened this October so far!

I turned 23 at the beginning of October. It was such a fun day but I'm sad I can't say "I'm feeling 22" anymore. It's bittersweet. Tyler and I decided to combine my birthday and our 1 year anniversary and go on a trip to DISNEYLAND…. wait for it…. on HALLOWEEN!! Going to Disneyland on Halloween has been on my legit bucket list for as long as I can remember. And now we are checking that one off the list! I can't wait!

I'm almost caught up with editing weddings *wipes forehead* I have about 3 more and then I'll be finished and moving on to the fall ones! This wedding season was CRAZY but I am so grateful for all the weddings I got to photograph and beautiful clients that I got to work with.

WE MOVED. FINALLY. We moved into a new apartment complex in Provo and I am in LOVE with it. It's an apartment/townhouse and I am so grateful to be living here. I'll post pictures another time but we are definitely in a happier place than we were. We are seriously so grateful.

And finally we went on a huge group date to Lagoon and Frightmares and it was SO MUCH FUN. I had a blast hanging out with friends, riding all the rides, and going through the haunted houses. And let me tell you. That new ride The Cannibal, is seriously the best ride ever! It was so scary but we wanted to ride it over and over and over again! And if you have the chance… also ride it AT NIGHT in the DARK. Holy cow it's amazing! October is already off to such a good start!

Boston Baby

Last week I had the incredible opportunity to shoot a wedding out in Boston and then a reception in Connecticut. Boston has a very special place in my heart because I used to live there! I spent a good chunk of my childhood back east and I was beyond thrilled to be going back there! Especially to shoot a wedding!

Chicago has the coolest airport with rainbow walls and ceiling! This proves I'm easily entertained I think.

Sunset flying over Chicago

We arrived a day early so we could do some sight seeing before the wedding day and let me tell you… NOSTALGIA TO THE MAX! We spent the first half of our day in Downtown Boston. We walked the freedom trail, walked through Boston Garden (so many memories with the swan boats and make way for ducklings statues), and spent some time in Faneuil Hall Marketplace where we soaked up some serious Boston vibes, shops, and the coolest street performers ever. I could go on and on about how beautiful the city was and how many precious memories I have had there.

Make Way for Ducklings statues. If you haven't heard of this children's book you MUST read it. It's darling and a classic!

The site of the Boston Massacre.

Benjamin Franklin's grave. We also saw many others like John Hancock and Paul Revere's.

These old buildings kill me, they are so beautiful!! And I guess that guy is pretty good looking too ;)

After running around the city a little bit we drove an hour to one of my favorite coastal cities, Salem Massachusetts. YES this is where Hocus Pocus was filmed (best movie ever, am I riiiight?) And this is the place where the famous witch hunts took place as well as the inspiration for Arthur Miller's play, The Crucible. I was in my high school's production of the Crucible so I have a total fascination with it! We went to the Witch Museum, saw where they hung "witches", and I even found Max&Dani's house from Hocus Pocus, No joke!! But I forgot to take a picture… ha ha. After all the witchyness, Tyler and I went to a restaurant right on the coast and ate the best New England Clam Chowder ever. So. Good. We watched the sail boats come in and out of the bay, and it was seriously so peaceful and stunning.

The famous witch museum! I can't believe I forgot to take pictures of the coastal restaurant and Hocus Pocus houses! I will be better next time! Epic Fail!!!!

The next day we shot an amazing wedding at the Belmont Temple and then had the rest of the day to ourselves. So we ventured to Littleton Massachusetts where I used to live and I showed Tyler everything from where I went to elementary school, to the lake we used to swim in ALL the time, the gorgeous forests and meadows, our favorite place to get ice-cream (Kimball Farm, you will NEVER find better ice cream I am being dead serious), and I even took Tyler to see my old house! They totally built on an extra garage so it looked a TON bigger. But oh my heart. Oh the memories. I was smiling and laughing so much I couldn't contain my happiness. It was so special to share everything with Tyler about this part of my childhood. We even went to visit my mom's best friend Stacy! We used to hang out with their family so much so it was incredible to see her again.

My old house! It looks so much bigger now! Lots of changes!

The lake down the street where we would swim all the time.

Our good friend Stacy!

Best ice cream period. End of discussion.

The trip ended in Connecticut photographing a wonderful reception full of wonderful people and a very  happy couple. My heart is so happy and I'm already looking forward to going back there again. Part of my heart definitely lies back east and it always will!
